5 Cool Facts About the BTS V's Song "Singularity"

Nowadays BTS is busy with their world tour concert titled "Love Yourself World Tour" and they have started to enter the Asian region, Japan. On each tour BTS always present some of their old and latest songs. Besides group performances, BTS also present solo performances from each member of the Vocal Line and Rap Line.


This time the fans were excited by the appearance of the song "Singularity" from Kim Taehyung (V) at the Tokyo Dome Stadium which made 50,000 ARMY scream hysterically.

There are interesting facts about this song that you all need to know. 

1. Created by one of the BTS members

"I think I wrote the lyric well, Taehyung will like it right?"

It turns out that the song "Singularity" was created specifically by RM for V!

This song was created by RM when he was released from the hospital after nose surgery. This fact is widely known after RM uploaded it to the BTS fancafe.

Not only that, during the broadcast of VLive Preview Comeback Show in LA Love Yourself : Tear the BTS members said:

"RM participated in the entire process of making the album (Love Yourself: Tear). We even saw him awake until the night and wrote songs for V. He was very enthusiastic and said to himself ‘I'm sure V will like it'."

2. Produced by RM's favorite producer

To perfect the quality of "Singularity," Big Hit collaborated with British music producer Charlie Jay Perry who also produced the Jorja Smith's album ‘Project 11’.

Besides being created by RM, it turned out that "Singularity" was also composed by RM's favorite producer.

"I wrote 'Singularity' well, luckily I didn't have to edit it and only did it once. The song "Singularity" was composed by the producer I like, so I worked harder for this."

3. The dance was created again by Keone Madrid

Behind V's cool dance, of course there are choreographers who make and train V to dance the choreography perfectly.

Keone Madrid, a famous Californian choreographer who has been nominated for dance awards is the figure behind V's "Singularity" dance.

Besides creating the choreography, Keone was also tasked with recording the choreography that he and the team did and then gave it to BTS members to learn.

4. V is admitted to enter Dance Line


Since its release, "Singularity" has been flooded with praise, not only from fans and BTS members, but also from BTS choreography trainer Sung Seuk Duk who admitted V into Dance Line.

During the VLive Preview Live Yourself: Tear, Jimin, who came to the MV location, also said:

"I came to the MV filming location ("Singularity" trailer). V really danced and I was very surprised. I don't know he's very good at dancing."

J-Hope added, "Taehyung's dancing ability is really better."

4. The most watched K-Pop Solo MV in a day

Right at midnight May 7 KST, Big Hit Entertainment released BTS (방탄 소년단) LOVE YOURSELF 轉 Tear 'Singularity' Comeback Trailer as a marker of comeback.

ARMY's great enthusiasm made this MV got 1 million likes in just 1 hour 28 minutes. Not only that, after 15 hours of release, the MV "Singularity" has gotten more than 10 million views and in 24 hours it gets more than 12.4 million views.

This is a fantastic achievement for a trailer in 24 hours.

This made the MV "Singularity" the fastest K-Pop Solo MV to receive 10 million likes and views in a day.

And now after almost 6 months since its release, the MV "Singularity" has gotten more than 67 million views and 3,5 million likes, daebak!

5. The first song to be played on BBC Radio, UK

"Singularity" became the first K-Pop solo song to be played on BBC UK Radio.

This is of course an unusual and rare feat for K-Pop singers, especially BBC UK radio is known to be a very conservative radio.

Besides the song "Singularity," on the same date (October 25, 2018), BBC radio also played BTS song "IDOL" feat. Nicki Minaj.
